Landscape Collaboration Indiv.

I decided to rework our group project, shown here, as  my individual collaboration.

I had grandiose self-image ideas of vastly improving our project by unifying the elements into a more 'river-flow design again along Andy Goldsworthy designs but more personal to me were the horse-shoe conceptsI had myself seen along rivers here in Washington and across America, in particular along the Mississippi. Rivers naturally form horseshoe lakes as they form and reform their courses. My horseshoe lake represents this as opposed to the Army Corps of engineers who intend to straighten.
My concept was to incorporate this fire pit into a design that involved charcoaled wood and smoke rising to represent the carbon dioxide cycle where tree are the storage devices for CO2. The burning of which puts it ack into the atmosphere as opposed to the decaying which provides nourishment for more plant life.
The spiral pattern emerged as a final or end point or flourish. I could have photographed it as if continuing indefinitely, but my natural instinct is to have a completeness.
The sun was playinghavoc with my photography limitations.

In revisiting Andy G's work I think the only real collaborative is the materials.
It occurred to me as an after thought that the moss had created or recreated in miniature a peninsula similar to The Park itself. That being accepted  that bark makes a comic representation of the trails all mixed up.
In having the trail partially blocked I have involved the passing hiker in the process as the tide works to diffuse sand castles on the beach.
Taking these last 2 pictures as I walked walked away I felt this one showed what i had meant to create. I never feel bad about not achieving original goals. I find it more important to roll with whatever happens. this allows the input of the unknown and usually improves my work while insuring humility and constantly recreating inspiration.
